# Alerts and summaries

> Emails that tell your team when a destination fails, and how each day went.

## Failure alerts

hooksnode checks for failed deliveries every 10 minutes. It groups failures by destination.

| Rule                               | Value                                                                   |
| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Opens an alert                     | 5 or more failed attempts in 10 minutes, or any delivery that is `dead` |
| Next email while failures continue | After 20 minutes, then 40, 80, 160 and so on, up to 24 hours            |
| Closes the alert                   | 30 minutes with no failure. You then get one **recovered** email.       |
| Who gets it                        | Every workspace member who can see the project, in their own time zone  |

Each alert email shows, for each failing destination:

* Failed attempts and events affected
* Deliveries that gave up, and deliveries that succeeded
* The trend against the 10 minutes before
* When the failures started, and the count since then
* The last response and the top 3 errors
* A link to the destination and a link to its events. When deliveries gave up, the link opens the **Needs retry** view.

## Summaries

Each workspace member gets a summary email at their local midnight:

| Monthly | The 1st   | The month before |

Each summary shows events received, deliveries that succeeded and that were lost, failed attempts and the success rate against the period before. It has a table for each project, and lists the destinations that lost events, with a link to retry them.

A period with no traffic sends no email. A member who can see only some projects gets numbers for those projects only.

## Time zone

hooksnode takes your time zone from your browser when you sign in. You can set it by hand in your profile.
